If there is anything that the world of cinema has taught us in 2019, it’s that Disney well and truly does own the entertainment world – and our wallets along with it. Just take a look at all the highest-grossing movies of the year and you have the likes of Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, Toy Story, Spider-Man: Far from Home, Captain Marvel and Aladdin that have all crossed the $1 Billion mark at the global box office. All but one of those movies, Spider-Man, are Disney-owned movies and even then it’s still a part of Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (Future films though? Maybe not).
It’s those Marvel films in particular that have been a massive money-spinner for the House of Mouse. Yes, their own movies along with Pixar and Star Wars are all proving to be successful, but the massive box office record-setting by Marvel is what is really setting the company apart and one of the key reasons that they keep dominating in pop culture.

I’ve never gotten the chance to see this particular live performance show at the Magic Kingdom, but I’m told that “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in History” outdoor show that began in 2016 in Liberty Square will end it’s current run on September 30th.

A fantastic video showing off the new Taiga coaster (Intamin) at Linnanmaki was produced that is fantastic and worth watching. Taiga was just awarded the 2019 “Roller Coaster of the Year” award from Park World Magazine. Check it out below.

According to a post by the ECC, the name of the new Shockwave model coaster from Vekoma opening at Energylandia in 2020 will be Aqualantis. The five inversion coaster is shooting for an April 6th opening date at this time.

Universal Orlando sent us some fantastic close-up pictures of the new Death Eaters now invading and lurking amongst the crowds of guests Hogsmeade on select nights as part of the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle projection show this fall. Catch it while you can, because this population new addition will only be around through November 15th.

Join me and good friend Tom (also known as Barney Tours on YouTube) as we take a look round a very quiet Chessington World of Adventures in Greater London England
This has got to be the quietest theme park visit I’ve ever had with every ride being walk on, making it one of the best theme park visits to any UK Merlin park
Great bumping into Tom Barnes as well making for a laugh out day and getting back on some classics such as Vampire, Rattlesnake and Dragon’s Fury one of the best spinning coasters out there
Theme park was suppose to open but at last minute they decided to open up everyday throughout September

Join us as we head back to the rapidly expanding and awesome Energylandia in Poland
This park couldn’t grow at a faster pace, it opened in 2014 and is now home to an incredible 15 coasters dozens of flat rides, family rides, water rides, shows and a water park (included in the ticket price) and next year their 16th coaster will open
This visit was all about the new coaster “Zadra” an amazing brand new RMC hybrid that blow us away and more importantly I got my 400th coaster credit on the awesome Intamin Hypercoaster known as Hyperion

Join us has we head back to Legendia theme park in Poland to check out what’s new and to get back on the awesome Lech Coaster
This park is stunning and definitely worth a visit if you are planning a trip to Poland, the rides are great and the theming and landscaping is beautiful throughout the park
Obviously the main draw to the park is the fabulous Lech Coaster a world class Vekoma Bermuda Blitz

Coming up in this episode of The Theme Park News Show, I share more details on a huge expansion opening in 2020 at Tokyo Disneyland. Along with that we take a first look at the ride vehicles for Snorri Touren that's opening at Europa Park later this year. There's also more exciting news from Energylandia along with an surprising update on the London Entertainment Resort!
