News agencies in Australia report that riders became trapped upside down for about three and a half minutes on the Doomsday Destroyer ride at WB MovieWorld when one of the safety sensors on the ride tripped and shut it down in mid-cycle. A video was shot by guests showing the arm of the ride stopped in the upside-down position, with ride’s legs dangling up in the air. The news reports that the riders were a bit shaken up by the brief experience, but I’m sure that the three and a half minutes spent stuck upside-down at the top probably felt like an eternity for them.

According to this article, Disney may have settled internally on a new name for the Disney’s Hollywood Studios park… and chances are you aren't going to like it. Why? Well back in August we reported how Disney was giving a survey to get feedback on eight possible new names for the park… none of which were very likeable… including my vote for worst name of all time… “Disney XL Park”.
Well, the latest scuttlebut claims that Disney may have simply created an entirely new option… a made-up sounding word that doesn’t seem to flow off the tongue… and it going to be a beast to try and remember how to spell it. Or at least that is my take on the concept of it becoming “Cinemagine Park”.
Cinemagine Park… nope… i just don’t like it. For starters, I just dislike Disney using the word “Park” at all to begin with… but Cinemagine? Sounds more like some kind of dessert you might order at a French/Asian Fusion Bistro and certainly not the place where you go to see Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Lets hope they grind away at this concept a bit more before landing on something.

Thor, Hulk, and Spider-Man are on their way to England as part of a new Marvel Super Heroes attraction coming this spring to Madame Tussauds Blackpool.
Merlin Entertainments, owners of the Madame Tussauds attraction in Blackpool, England, is investing £1 million ($1.42 million) in the Marvel Super Heroes project which is set to expand the wax museum’s footprint by a further 5501 square feet.
The experience will give guests the sense that they are part of a classic Marvel comic strip. The new attraction will feature four zones and takes its inspiration from the original comics as well as the blockbuster films. Visitors will encounter a number of new figures and engage in a range of interactive experiences.

In the latest update to Disney & More, they theorize a bit on what the future of the Disneyland Resort could look like someday... and how a potential third park may not go into the old Strawberry field site, or anywhere else we may have discussed in the past. Instead the idea was floating about the theoretical possibility of Disney buying the Anaheim Angels baseball stadium site and using it for a 3rd park if the site were to become available. Plus some thoughts about how it could be linked to the rest of the resort. Interesting stuff that makes you think a bit.

New aerial drone-cam footage shot of Kings Dominion shows off the latest look at Twisted Timbers as well as other nearby projects going on in the park. Also looks like Ricochet is in the process of getting a new paint job, as much of the yellow track has been painted green. Plus looks like the park has decided to resurface the old blacktop pathways between Rebel Yell and Twisted Timbers with concrete.

Interesting new attraction news for Germany's Movie Park comes to us this week from BlooLoop. They report that the park's Mystery River attraction (rapids ride), a rarely seen indoor / outdoor themed river rapids dark ride attraction, will be given a new King Arthur theme and transformed into an all new adventure called Excalibur - Secrets of the Dark Forest. I'm guessing this may be for 2018, though no official timeline is mentioned in the article.
Fun Fact... this will actually be the third theme applied to this ride, as it opened with a "NeverEnding Story" theme.

Disney has filed a work permit to begin needed electric work valued at over $2 million was also filed for more electrical work needed at Epcot for a “Project S”, which is believed to be for the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride. While the former Universe of Energy ride building is wired up of course, remember that the Guardians attraction will require the building of a much larger new structure backstage that will contain the majority of the actual attraction. With the paperwork now in progress, I’m guessing see work start on this new structure in the next few months. Always a bonus to get all the ground-work out of the way now before the wet Summer season begins.

Disney has confirmed that the Star Wars: Galactic Nights special event will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios park on May 27th, 2018. The after-hours special-ticket event runs from 7pm to Midnight, features special live entertainment, rare character meet & greet opportunities, unique food and beverage options and more. (But will they have roast Porg?)
The interesting thing is that since this event takes place just two days after the official release of “SOLO: A Star Wars Story”, this may be your first chance to see some of the newest characters added to the Star Wars Universe. Follow the link for the official listing of offerings and to find out how you can purchase a ticket to this limited time event which is sure to sell out.

As part of the Towers Loving Care program, Alton towers have now removed the Kiosks at the entrance to the park, does this mean a major new entrance to the park ?
I think like most people the entrance was long overdue for a facelift and has been the same or similiar since the 1980s
