While out focus of late at Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been on the sudden closure of the famous Wild Mouse, BlooLoop reports that plans were filed by the park to build a new 120-room, five-story hotel at the park. The new hotel will feature a conference center and the nearby Coasters Diner will be revamped to serve as a restaurant and bar for the new hotel.
As for the Wild Mouse, sources tell us that the sudden removal of the coaster was not something planned long in advance, but rather a more sudden and pressing matter came up that kind of forced their hand into making the hard choice to remove it. With demolition crews already on site taking down the Trauma Towers facade nearby, it only helped expedite the removal of the Mouse as well.

An article in the local news mentions something interesting about Efteling. Assuming the Google Translation is accurate, they say that the park will be tearing down The Python coaster and then rebuilding it again between now and March 2018, just in time to reopen to guests on March 31st. Python opened way back in 1981, so the coaster is quite old, and from the sound of it they will be replacing most of the old track with new track I assume, for an improved experience.

Pictures taken just outside a Vekoma test site in Europe show that the company is putting together what looks like some kind of new family boomerang shuttle coaster layout, featuring some more aggressive twists and turns on the lower end between the two spikes. Follow the link to see some pictures taken this week showing the spike tracks being put into place and some earlier photos showing off more of the twisted portion of the layout.

Bobbejaanland has dropped an interesting hint about what they are up to for 2018 on Facebook. As a bit of a throwback, they have posted a picture of the park's former Air Race coaster, now called Dream Catcher, back when it still had the enclosed airplane themed trains, which were replaced with modern open-air inverted style swinging trains when they changed the name in 2006. According to the post the park is "giving it a blast of new life this year."
According to our sources, Dream Catcher will have a VR system enhancement added onto it for the 2018 season.

Some new details about the transformation and evolution of the Eurosat coaster have come from Europa-Park this week. Previously we mentioned that the facade of the famous Moulin Rouge building (complete with red windmill) would be added to the front entrance to the ride, and now we have a slight name change as well, as it will be called "Eurosat - CanCan Coaster" when it reopens in Summer 2018. The track layout, while completely replaced, will still be very similar to the original Eurosat layout.
MackMedia announced that they will be providing a special new VR experience option for the ride as well under the Eurosat Coastiality brand. To allow for easy loading, the ride will have a second entirely separate entrance and station for the Coastiality VR experience with a separate dedicated train and shift-track to allow it to load on and off the main ride track. This will allow for two attraction experiences to use the same coaster system.

Efteling is ready to begin moving forward with a dramatic plans to expand the park into new land as part of their "World of Efteling 2030" masterplan. According to a new post at BlooLoop, they have come to the government to ask for permission to begin working on the first phase of this expansion in order to prepare the 3 hectares site for a new attraction they wish to open in 2020.
According to a map shown, the first phase site will be across the back road of the park, right next door to the Efteling Hotel. This makes me wonder if the 2020 attraction, may be part of the New Coaster rumor we heard a few months back predicted for 2019... as the location given for the coaster (somewhere between Vogel Rok and the Ruigrijk area) is also exactly where the future 2020 to 2030 expansion site lies. Stay tuned...
