) Coaster Kings has posted a new update from Europa Park this week where they sneak a peek at not only the construction progress on the Rulantica indoor waterpark project, the awesome winter holiday decor on display inside Europa Park itself. During a ride on the seasonal ferris wheel they set up in the park every winter they also managed to get pictures of the repair and rebuilding taking place after the summer fire to rebuild and replace Piraten in Batvia and the Norway/Scandinavian area of the park.
From the look of things the former Piraten site has been cleared and is undergoing site-prep and ground utility work, while the rest of the focus right now appears on getting the Scandinavian area rebuilt first, which makes sense as it serves as a primary access path over to the Blue Fire Megacoaster section of the park. If this can be reopened in 2019, then hopefully a new version of the Piraten dark flume ride can be ready for 2020, though the park has yet to announce any kind of formal timeline, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

We missed this announcement in November but it seems The London Resort project has been officially pushed back again… this time to 2024. Also worth noting is that the financial backer of the project has now taken over control of the project due to a lack of progress being made thus far. According to this article, Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi has taken a “personal role” in the management of the company as they are now working towards submitting their planning application in 2019. Dr Al Humaidi has been invested in the project for the past five years and promises to “keep the plans afloat financially until a planning application could be submitted.”

Some early drawings of Tayto Park’s new planned 2021 coaster project have been submitted to the local planning board. From what we see in the images sent in, the project actually appears as if it could be two interwoven coasters from Vekoma… a custom layout family boomerang coaster tangled up within the layout of a larger suspended coaster.
Tayto Park in Ireland announced that they are in the planning stages of building a large new steel roller coaster for the park to open in 2021. While the manufactuer of the new coaster was not mentioned, they did report that it will cost about €14 million, with a theoretical capacity of 1,200 riders per hour and will stand about 105 feet tall, the same height as their existing Cu Chulainn wooden coaster, but with a longer layout. Given the height and length and cost, I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being a launched coaster of some kind.

According to various news reports a 44-year old man was taken in for medical treatment from Typhoon Lagoon on Saturday afternoon after an incident on the park’s newest attraction, Miss Adventure Falls. I'm not sure how it happened, but according to the reports his arm got stuck in the conveyor belt lift system at some point on the multi-passenger raft ride.
You know what they always say though, keep your arms and legs inside the ride vehicle at all times, so my best guess is that someone didn’t listen and unfortunately did something they shouldn’t have.
