Screamscape sources tell us that Disneyland Paris may have been allocated some new funds to create two major new attractions at the park between 2022 and 2024. While one of the rides is still unknown (maybe the Indiana Jones rumor below?), the other attraction said to be coming would be a clone of the “Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway” attraction opening later this year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. I can only imagine that Disney execs may be rather high on the new ride concept at this point as unconfirmed rumors of yet another clone of this same ride indicated it would also go to Disneyland in California.
There is lots of time between now and when these projects would get started through… enough time for the plans change entirely, but for now this seems to be the park’s short-term 5-year plan of expansion.

The list of Harry Potter exhibits at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in the UK will grow again in 2019 with the addition of a tour through the restored sets of the Gringotts Bank, from the lobby down to get a peek into Bellatrix Lestrange’s vault. Look for the new exhibit to open on April 6th.

Good news today for Disneyland fans as Space Mountain was cleared and reopenedon Friday after the investigations over the man who forced his way out of a train in mid-ride were completed. No word on what exactly was determined in the reports, we just hope the OSHA or the insurance companies don’t use this as an excuse to put horse-collar style restraints onto Space Mountain as Splash Mountain was forced in adding lap-bars for a similar reason.
(2/1/19) In a classic “What the Hell?!” moment… a 20 year old man climbed aboard Space Mountain at Disneyland on Tuesday and then once the ride was in motion, managed to “use force” and contort himself free of the locked restraints and then climbed out of the train while it was making the slow journey from the station to the top of the coaster. I’m unsure if he climbed out in that one dark corridor between the lifts, or if he simply exited during the lift hill itself, but he managed to do it all and was injured in the process.
According to this report the man, whose identity has been withheld, suffers from “cognitive disabilities”. The Space Mountain staff quickly noticed he had climbed out of the train and E-Stopped the ride, and sent cast members into the attraction to locate him and bring him to escort him to safety. Space Mountain now currently closed while DOSH and Cal-OSHA conduct their investigations before clearing the park to reopen the ride.

No way to know how accurate this is, but Coaster-Nation has created an animated version of what Tayto Park’s next coaster projects could look like, combining an inverter coaster layout along-side a more family friendly sit-down shuttle coaster layout.

According to a post on the IRM Rides Facebook page, it appears that the Mad Mouse from Joyland Amusement Park (1959 Allen Herschel) in Lubbock, Texas was listed as being up for sale for $29,000 on Nov. 11th. While this doesn't mean for sure that the ride wont be at Joyland for the 2018 season, it is a good indicator that the ride may be on the way out, no matter if they find a buyer or not. As of today however, Mad Mouse is still listed as an attraction at the park on the official website.

Forbes reports that the Disneyland Paris resort is installing something called MagicPass, an RFID based wireless system to allow guests to open the hotel room doors or pay for items with the use of the new MagicPass cards, which will be tied to the customer’s credit card. Currently the MagicPass system is being installed at all of the Disneyland Paris Hotels, but I imagine the theme parks will soon follow as it will not only hold a guests payment method and room key, but also can store their park tickets and even FastPass tickets all on the same card.

Alabama Splash Adventure has posted a new video to talk about the park's 2018 expansion plans. This includes the addition of "The Royal Train'... which really is a train themed tram that rides along the pathways and not a true train on tracks, but it will still move you around the park. They are also adding a Zamperla Rockin' Tug, a Scrambler, a Tilt-A-Whirl and a Yo-Yo.
On top of the five new rides, they are also adding a new high dive show called the Dueling Pirates Show as well as the Splash Island kids slide structure area that was previously announced.
For the wondering, some good comments were posted by Dan Koch on Facebook. When asked about the status of the old log ride, he said that they had no plans to reopen it at this time. The old log flume would require at least $2 million to get up and running again and that it only had the capacity to run 400 guests per hour. Meanwhile that same $2 million could purchase new waterslides capable of thrilling 2,000 guests per hour. So with that logic in mind, he's right... the old log flume just isn't the right choice for the park right now, especially if you factor in the high maintenance costs of a water ride as well. But there is a sliver of hope for the old flume, that "One day...." it could happen. Just not right now.
