According to a post on the IRM Rides Facebook page, it appears that the Mad Mouse from Joyland Amusement Park (1959 Allen Herschel) in Lubbock, Texas was listed as being up for sale for $29,000 on Nov. 11th. While this doesn't mean for sure that the ride wont be at Joyland for the 2018 season, it is a good indicator that the ride may be on the way out, no matter if they find a buyer or not. As of today however, Mad Mouse is still listed as an attraction at the park on the official website.

Forbes reports that the Disneyland Paris resort is installing something called MagicPass, an RFID based wireless system to allow guests to open the hotel room doors or pay for items with the use of the new MagicPass cards, which will be tied to the customer’s credit card. Currently the MagicPass system is being installed at all of the Disneyland Paris Hotels, but I imagine the theme parks will soon follow as it will not only hold a guests payment method and room key, but also can store their park tickets and even FastPass tickets all on the same card.

Alabama Splash Adventure has posted a new video to talk about the park's 2018 expansion plans. This includes the addition of "The Royal Train'... which really is a train themed tram that rides along the pathways and not a true train on tracks, but it will still move you around the park. They are also adding a Zamperla Rockin' Tug, a Scrambler, a Tilt-A-Whirl and a Yo-Yo.
On top of the five new rides, they are also adding a new high dive show called the Dueling Pirates Show as well as the Splash Island kids slide structure area that was previously announced.
For the wondering, some good comments were posted by Dan Koch on Facebook. When asked about the status of the old log ride, he said that they had no plans to reopen it at this time. The old log flume would require at least $2 million to get up and running again and that it only had the capacity to run 400 guests per hour. Meanwhile that same $2 million could purchase new waterslides capable of thrilling 2,000 guests per hour. So with that logic in mind, he's right... the old log flume just isn't the right choice for the park right now, especially if you factor in the high maintenance costs of a water ride as well. But there is a sliver of hope for the old flume, that "One day...." it could happen. Just not right now.

Ever since it began to look more clearly that the Super Nintendo World land in Orlando would be saved for a new third full size theme park in development, the rumors began about how the existing KidZone may instead be converted into a Pokemon themed area instead. This along with rumors of a possible Zelda themed land concept that could appear in Islands of Adventure, it looked like Universal Orlando was ready to sprinkle a little Nintendo magic across their entire resort property.
Not so fast though… time to slow down a bit, as just as I had been hearing whispers that Universal Orlando had no intention to open lands or properties themed to other Nintendo IP’s before they can build Super Nintendo World first, a new update from Theme Park University also backs up these same reports, claiming that plans to build Pokemon and Zelda themed lands are being put on hold… for now at least. The corporate bosses have wisely decided to sit on these projects for a bit until they can determine just how well the Nintendo IPs perform in a theme park environment first.
I imagine that they’ll revisit these projects once again when the first Super Nintendo World opens in Japan in 2020. The good news is that with the Nintendo projects on the shelf for the time being, we should see some entirely new and unique plans begin to form at the parks instead as Universal is committed to adding new attractions for guests to enjoy each year.

A few new construction pictures showing off the progress being made on Tigris can be found at TouringCentralFlorida this week as more track and support pieces are being installed.
According to the latest update posted to TouringCentralFlorida workers have begun cutting apart a section of Gwazi behind the Lion side lift hill this week. A crane is on site and is said to be lifting out the sections of the support structure that are being cut away. Given the twisted interwoven structure of Gwazi, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are cutting away sections to create an access path for a crane and other heavy machinery to get in closer to the center of the structure, allowing for easier access to begin the conversion of Gwazi into a new RMC hybrid coaster creation.

Heide Park has announced a new updated name for Colossos when it reopens in 2019 as “Colossos Kampf Der Giganten”. The new logo shown looks very similar to the one Merlin put out to promote Wicker Man coaster at Alton Towers, and if you follow this link and scrool down a bit, you’ll see that they have built a giant creepy tree-monster looking creature structure that the coaster will travel through at one point. Given that Wicker Man uses a lot of smoke and fire effects, it makes me wonder if Colossos will also do the same.

We know a tiny bit more about the story being told on the new Sesame Street themed dark ride coming to PortAventura thanks to a tweet. The promotional tweet shows off a graphic for the new ride and a description in English that mentions “Detective Grover in going on a secret mission. To carry it out, he will need help from some brave families that are willing to embark on a million and one adventures as they travel through the world of Sesame Street!”.

For all the coaster fans who are big online gamers as well, here is a treat for you. World of Warcraft is still around after all these years and apparently those playtesting the latest build have reported the addition of a “Darkmoon Faire” that features an actual roller coaster ride you can take a spin on with your character. You can’t miss the coaster, it features a giant creepy evil eyeball that stares down upon everyone below at the peak of the highest point in the ride. Check out the video below…
