While the opening of Super Nintendo World might not be as soon as some may have hoped, due to the ongoing COVID-19 problem delaying the Tokyo 2020 Olympics--the park's planned opening window, the construction of the new park is certainly coming along despite that. An Instagram user has captured an aerial shot of the theme park, giving an idea of the scale of some of the attractions, and what the area will look like when it does open. In the past, a handful of select photographs were taken from above hovering outside the park, showing off an under-construction level flagpole surrounded by walls obscuring everything else below. In this latest picture, we get to see all sorts of attractions, like Princess Peach's castle, Bowser's own castle, pyramids, warp pipes, and other details. It's not clear when Univeral Studios' Super Nintendo World will be open to the public, but the date might not be that far off.

According to some early guidelines mentioned by the state of California regarding a multi-phase plan to gradually reopen businesses in the state, it sounds like the opening of attractions that would normally contain huge groups of guests at one time may not reopen until the laser phases of the plan. This could potentially delay the reopening of big parks like Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood for several months.
While the subject of “theme parks” are never officially mentioned, this is the early thinking based on the first suggested guidelines. Of course, during the early days of social distancing, before stay-at-home orders, theme parks were going to be allowed to stay open at the time. So you never know, with the right proof of concept in place (like the successful reopening of parks elsewhere…) exceptions may be made and parks could open sooner.

According to this tweet, the Belgium government has now issued authorization for theme parks to reopen starting June 8th, 2020, as long as they use a list of proposed new operational guidelines. The list includes social distancing, reduced capacity attendance limits, closing indoor spaces and new cleaning standards. The June 8th date is contingent on if conditions are met within the country during prior phases of business reopenings set to take place over the month of May. These prior phases will see a return to the workplace and the reopening of certain classes of businesses at different times (May 4 and May 11), a gradual return to school operations, family visits and allowing new travelers into the country (May 18).
Some of the most popular parks in Belgium include: Bobbejaanland, most of the Plopsa parks, Walibi Belgium and Bellewaerde.

Germany’s Minister of Tourism, Guido Wolf, has laid out a step-by-step plan to revive tourism in the country in the era of Covid-19. He mentions that outdoor attractions will have a strong advantage over indoor attractions and suggests that Zoos, Amusement Parks and other open-air attractions could reopen as early as May 4 as part of the first phase. The second phase would see beer gardens, RV campgrounds and holiday resorts, hotels and museums be allowed to begin reopening. Follow the link to read more.

A set of aerial photos of the Disneyland Resort posted to MiceChat has discovered one very interesting thing. In the middle of the Avengers Campus construction site, you can now see that a massive Quinjet has arrived on site. This sets up the theme of the Phase 2 attraction to arrive later, as seen in early concept art featuring a Quinjet vehicle parked at an Avengers base building.
Look around elsewhere in the update and you can also see the massive clearing behind Toontown for the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction.
